This exciting new band needed artwork for their debut EP that would reflect the quality of the music they produce. The concept was derived from their name and takes its cues from the now iconic Andy Warhol cover for Nico & the Velvet Underground. The idea was to make the band members instantly recognisable on the cover without the contrived, over-posed band shots seen on many albums these days.
Format / Myspace Layout
To keep pace with the increasingly competitive music industry the client required an update to their myspace layout. Myspace has taken precedent as the medium of choice for up and coming bands to make their break into the industry, using theme/artwork from their debut EP and the banana motif the solution is a simple but bold approach.
Format / Monthy HTML Newsletter & Upcoming Gig Update
The band wanted a way to keep their fan base informed about news and gigs but done so with a sense of humour and fun. Taking the theme artwork from the EP a structured HTML template was built that included a monthly video, puzzle corner, simian species of the month and songs the band members were currently listening to, all as a means for generating interest from both new and current subscribers. A secondary template for an occasional gig update was designed as a means for notifying the database of important upcoming gigs.
