Format / A1 Double-sided Poster
Ethical and environmentally conscious design is an increasingly important issue in the creative world. As a soon-to-be new graduate I realised that there was nothing in the way of publications aimed at educating newly graduated designers in this area. So I came up with the concept of ‘Youthanize,’ the word means to ‘change or alter something for a youth market.’ I developed an identity for the
publication based around speech bubbles and a style of cutout type, which I believe suited the subject matter. I also considered the format of the publication to be crucial, I wanted something that would lessen the impact on the environment. The format is an A1 poster that folds down to make up eight A4 spreads for articles on various issues. This allowed me to create something that required no glueing and if in production would be printed on a 100% recycled (post-consumer waste) uncoated stock using vegetable inks.
